Since their formation in 1997, the Trio has quickly become one of today’s most exciting chamber ensembles. Acclaimed for their superb sense of ensemble and wondrous balance, the Boston Trio enjoys a devoted following in Boston and a growing reputation throughout the United States and abroad.

Violinist Irina Muresanu, cellist Allison Eldredge, and pianist Heng-Jin Park each have distinguished careers as soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician, and have appeared with major orchestras and premier chamber music festivals throughout the United States and Europe. Cellist Allison Eldredge, who has performed as soloist with many of the world’s finest orchestras including the New York Philharmonic, the Cleveland Orchestra and the Chicago Symphony, is a recipient of the prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. Ms. Muresanu, who has appeared as soloist with the Boston Philharmonic, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, and other top international orchestras, is the recipient of top prizes at the Montreal International Competition and the Queen Elizabeth Violin Competition. Pianist Heng-Jin Park, who made her solo debut with the Boston Pops at the age of 15, is the founding member of the Boston Trio,

 

Trio PhotHighlights of The Boston Trio’s recent seasons include the Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the Boston Classical Orchestra, the annual concert in Jordan Hall at NEC, their New York debut at Merkin Hall, nationally televised performances at the Belgrade Music Festival at the Kolarac Foundation Hall in Serbia, a tour of Utah, performances in California including at the Clark Library at UCLA, as well as repeat appearances at the Rockport Chamber Music Festival and numerous other concerts across North America.

The Trio has been invited to perform on numerous prestigious chamber music series including the Bank of America Celebrity Series; Seiji Ozawa Hall in Tanglewood; the Bay Chamber Concerts in Rockport, Maine; the Rockport Chamber Music Festival in Rockport, MA; the Harvard Musical Association concerts; Concerts at the Point in Westport, MA; the Kalliroscope Gallery concerts at the Indian Hill Music Center; Brigham Young University in Utah; Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum; the Falmouth Chamber Music Series; the Howland Chamber Music Circle; the North Pointe Series in New York; the Fitchburg Performing Arts Series; and the Stockbridge Summer Music Series.

The Trio has also performed on the Boston Symphony Orchestra’s “Prelude” Concerts; at Rockefeller University in NYC; the Longy School of Music; Nichols College; and as soloists with the Newton Symphony, performing Beethoven’s “Triple Concerto.” Recent collaborations include a Jordan Hall concert with the Borromeo Quartet to benefit the Red Cross for the victims of September 11, and performances with the Bill T. Jones Dance Company. The members of the Boston Trio, who are frequent guests on “Classics in the Morning” and “Classical Performances” on Boston’s WGBH Radio, released their first CD as a trio in March 2000 featuring music of Ravel, Brahms, and Suk.

Committed to bringing chamber music to a broader audience through outreach activities, the Boston Trio has coached chamber music at the Tanglewood Institute of Music and served as Chamber Music Ensemble in Residence at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge from 1997 to 2004. The Boston Trio is the Ensemble-in-Residence at the Killington Music Festival in Killington, Vermont and the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. The individual members serve on the faculties of the New England Conservatory, the Boston Conservatory, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and are in demand as master class teachers throughout the United States, Asia and Europe.
